Zee Turner Raids Bhaskar Net for stealing Ten Sports Signals

Aug 11, 2008 New Delhi: Bhaskar Net, Madhya Pradesh's biggest Cable Operator (an arm of Bhaskar Media Group operating in partnership with Hathway) was raided by a court appointed comissioner in close coordination with Madhya Pradesh Police yesterday in Bhopal and Indore for providing the unauthorized feed of Ten Sports to the viewers.

The raid was conducted in the afternoon during which raiding officials were also bashed up by Bhasker Net's staff. All the evidences of piracy and man handling have been collected by the court appointed commissioner and the same will be handed over to Delhi High Court. Meanwhile Bhasker’s Ten Sports Equipment involved in piracy is also seized in Bhopal.Bhopal

Also, a complaint under section section 379 IPC is lodged against Managing Director, Bhaskar Net, Dhramesh Goyel and Managing Partner Mr. Jayraman at Indore.
Resultant of these raids a major part of Bhopal and Indore is devoid of the ongoing India- Srilanka cricket series being telecast on Ten Sports.
Zee Turner which has the sole distribution rights for Ten Sports had switched off the said channel’s signals as Bhasker Net had not signed the agreement to procure these signals legitimately from Zee Turner.
Confirming the development, Zee Turner spokesperson said, "We at Zee Turner will not allow any sort of unfair trade practices or unauthorized distribution of our channel signals. Any kind of piracy of our signals will not be tolerated and an appropriate action will be taken against any operator indulging in such mal practices. We are confident that these raids would send a strong message across the industry and other operators indulging in such practices will refrain from doing so"
