Zee Turner: The leader reigns supreme !

Marathi channels' share of Zee Turner bouquet reigns supreme amongst all other channels in Maharashtra

September 2007: Zee Turner bouquet Zee Marathi continues to be the most popular channel among the television audience in Maharashtra including Mumbai. The channel has clearly surpassed Star Plus in the overall GRPs with respect to almost all the target groups of television viewers with the new programming strategy. In CS 15+ ABC, the overall GRPs of Zee Marathi are 344 and Star Plus are 298 and in female CS 25+ ABC GRPs Zee Marathi is ahead of Star Plus by 99 GRPs. Here Star Plus is 373 and Zee Marathi has successfully captured 472 GRPs. In female 15+ ABC the overall GRPs of Zee Marathi are 427 and Star Plus 359, And also in male CS 25+ ABC Zee Marathi is 346 and Star Plus 268. After launching new marathi channel, i.e. Zee Talkies, 24 hrs Marathi Movie channel, Zee Marathi continues to be the No. 1 Channel in Maharashtra.

Besides the success of Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies has added an additional feather in Zee Network’s crown. In the first week, Zee Talkies has given a new dimension to the channel's unconventional approach to movie programming and has reaped good returns. Zee Talkies has taken awesome take off with 70 GRPs in the first week itself and proved to be a promising accompaniment to the parent general entertainment channel, Zee Marathi.

In this week 35, Zee Marathi has clearly rode on its dailies and bi weekly comedy show Close up Hasya Samrat. This Comedy Show has garnered highest ratings. Zee Marathi has worked out new strategy of daily soaps. Now dailies are extended to 6 - days a week format. From July 2 onwards, the channel has started airing its prime time dailies from Mon to Sat on their respective time bands. Saturday's prime time is been given to weeklies and the film has shifted to 2200 hrs. This strategy is definitely new in Marathi television industry and Zee Marathi has put a foot forward and conquered the challenge. Saturday Programming in place of Feature film was a risk, but it has turned out absolutely well from the first week itself.

Zee Marathi has been a pioneer in Marathi television and the TAM figures are only a reflection of the fact that despite these audiences being conversant with Hindi and Marathi, they prefer watching quality programs in their local language.

In addition to the above, Zee Marathi has captured the highest relative share in Maharashtra market. (Zee Marathi = 39%, Zee 24 Taas = 2% and newly launched Zee Talkies = 10%, ETV Marathi = 29%, DD10 = 11%, Mi Marathi = 5%, Star Maza = 2% in All Maharashtra). Thus, aggregate market share of Zee Marathi group is 51% of Marathi Market.

As always the female viewership has taken Zee Marathi's popular serials to even greater scales. The Ratings of week 35 (TAM all Maharashtra cs 25+ ABC Female)




In the cut throat race for TRPs, Zee Marathi has consistently been ahead with its programmes. And once again it has proved its leadership in Maharashtra, among the top general entertainment channels.
