How to be happy !

I am a great fan of Chetan Bhagat, not because his name resembles my own but because his thoughts are really immature, yet so mature…quite similar to Samarth Sir - my history teacher in school. I still try to decipher his statement. He used to say "Guys, I am not asking you to be serious, but try to be a little sincere" and these words continue to bewilder since then, and every day I try resolving the mystic of it.

In the process last night I typed the golden words on a search engine. The results included an amazing speech by Chetan Bhagat at one of the B-Schools. I wish to share it with all. A few excerpts from his speech are:

"You must have read some quotes - Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from what I have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school. Where you have to run with a marble in a spoon, kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life, where health and relationships are the marbles. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but the spark, the feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions. One thing about nurturing the spark is - don't take life seriously. Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid cards with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

"Don't be serious, be sincere."!!!
